AMS08-09, Agriport 570, 1775TB Middenmeer, The Netherlands

AMS08-09 is a 32MW nominal critical IT capacity data centre. AMS08-AMS09 have four main Availability Zone (AZ) buildings each 8MW nominal IT load, and these are connected in pairs by a Support Building (SB) and surrounded by smaller ancillary buildings and external plant. The site was on reclaimed ground and was formally used for agriculture. The adjacent land users are main agricultural businesses either in the open environment or in glass houses. There was a small site of business units at the southern end of the site. The main restrictions was the control of pollution off the site into the surrounding drainage canals.

The following construction & civil engineering works were required:

  • Construction of pile caps, pad and poured concrete foundations;
  • Construction of Primary Plant subfloors;
  • Construction of foundations for electrical generators;
  • Construction of foundations for MV equipment & generators;
  • Installation of Water ring main & hydrants;
  • Installation of mechanical pipework;
  • Installation of new foul and water services;
  • Installation of multiple duct banks and tie-ins to buildings;
  • Construction of access roads and footways;
  • Installation of external car park furniture, bollards, kerbing;
  • Car park marking;
  • Construction of a substation and associated ducting; and,
  • Landscaping.
