The N5 Westport to Turlough Road Project links the N5 at Castlebar to the N59 in the townland of Conrea Junction, forming a bypass to the east and south of Castlebar and a bypass to the north of Westport.

The scheme comprises of design and construction of 19.7km of Type 2 Dual Carriageway and 5.8km of Type 3, 2 and 1 Single Carriageway and passes over the Westport to Manulla Junction railway line at two locations.
